I want a label for Tragedy of the Commons but for the way an individual spends his/her time e.g. on any given day happy to focus on work but at the end of a year I'm bummed if I never made plans to travel/explore the world

@sebasbensu suggests Parfait Tragedy, which is a step forward, but still not quite the right fit...

Personal OKRs? Give yourself paired metrics. Would like to experiment with 3 month personal cycles and monthly written check in. Maybe even making them public / semi-public

At our last house party, someone asked me for my personal OKRs, and I started listed them before realizing he was making fun of me. 😢

I believe Jon Elster wrote about this and gave it a name, though I can no longer remember where.

In economics, this gets the super-catchy name of "time-inconsistent preferences". Or, by better writers, "regret".

The basic rule for vacations is: * Why am I going there? * Why am I going there *now*? Paris will still be Paris later, but the new moon and "Cheap December trips to Vegas" intersect in 2020, so I'm going to Death Valley in December 2020 instead of Paris.

As you may have noticed, since seasonal weather counts as a "Why now?", I do a lot of nature trips and very, very few city trips.
