Anyone who provides you a recipe for productivity is full of it. None of this "write every day" or "write five pages a day" or "write only on the third Sunday of the month" BS. Writing is tough and rarely formulaic. You do you. #writing #academiclife

Oh YES! Writing a book now and agree. For me, it takes many hours of focuses time, not interrupted by calls or meetings.

Not quite true - writing can be formulaic, but it's usually a personal formula tied to type of output. For a Garcia-Marquez no trouble keeping a schedule, for some its scraps of writing throughout the day, others like HST it's binge writing. Depends on your psyche & pay grade.

For me it has to be formulaic to get the initial draft done. Then I can do the you do you bit to make it mine. But I agree, it's hard work...no doubts there!
