Big sigh of relief seeing #s today in Scotland. 289 cases & 1.5% positivity. Challenge is to maintain these low numbers (& drive them lower) while opening up. Requires: vaccination, test/trace/isolate system, wastewater testing & all of us to continue being cautious to keep R<1.

Still far too high. Just imagine how NZ would have reacted to these numbers.

The younger people are going to get the better vaccines. Us oldies have been fobbed off with the Oxford one.

The Oxford one that massively reduces deaths and hospitalisations? That one?

Wales has also reached low numbers thankfully 21 per 100,000 and 2.1% positivity (my own region 13 and 1.3%).

Still too high. And still they think it's okay to open schools. A teacher of English in a secondary school will see around 180 pupils a day, many of whom are over 16, and would be expected to observe 2 m distancing in shops or even outdoors. Madness. Lockdown coming soon...
