Good news from study on Pfizer: 'vaccine could significantly reduce risk of transmission from people who are asymptomatic, as well as protect others from getting ill.'-> good sign, means we can build towards stopping transmission with a vaccine (like MMR).https://www.authorea.com/users/332778/articles/509881-single-dose-bnt162b2-vaccine-protects-against-asymptomatic-sars-cov-2-infection?access_token=-hDTQsMUXcCPSpdZV_Lmpg …

This is data for Pfizer and is great news. Is there similar analysis for AstraZeneca?

Should we change strategy to prioritise people most likely to catch and transmit? Key workers, primary teachers, public transport workers..

This is similar to Thailands strategy. Along with elderly and vulnerable tourism industry workers in their crucial tourism industry are in the first groups to get vaccinated. Also to reboot the tourism industry.

Let’s hope it can also work against the new variant discovered in New York (B.1.526).. of course preventing it from ever getting in to the country or others in the first place is the best way. Prevention over cure?..
