Happy Wed!☀️Why is unlocking cautiously important? It's like building a tower of blocks, w/support from vaccines, test/trace/isolate & border restrictions. If you go slowly & add layer by layer, you get there faster. Rush & it collapses. We need to keep R<1 (epidemic decreasing).

And remember: the voices shouting to unlock down. And accusing govt of being too cautious. Are they going to be treating you in hospital if you get COVID or have a heart attack or your child has appendicitis? Health workers are exhausted- listen to them. Not to populist shouters.

Also for those shouting Scotland is going slower- it’s already unlocked what England is planning in March. Early primaries back 22 Feb, 2 adults can meet outside, groups of 13 kids (under 12) can meet outside, outdoor sports like tennis & golf allowed. Look at the details.

Your analogy makes too much sense, this high level thinking will go over Boris Johnson’s head.

Why waste the effort of the public. The last thing people would want is to go back to lockdown. Slow and steady wins the race 🏁
