Here is the problem -> UK govt has no strategy beyond locking down. No exit strategy. They don't have testing turn-around times fast enough. There's not enough support for isolation. Borders remain largely open. There is *much* more they could have done, but no bold leadership.https://twitter.com/cjayanetti/status/1347664485167861768 …

Friend in Sydney has pretty normal life but can't travel abroad. I can do little but travel abroad. UK in full lockdown, thousands dying each week to COVID, health services under strain, rising unemployment, schools shut, but I can easily jump on a flight for a holiday in Dubai.

The government do seem to be moving in this direction though, right? Hopefully when the numbers are right back down again we implement this instead of telling people to go on holiday again.

We are not on full lockdown in England. It seems nowhere near like March/April. The roads are busy!

Devi rather than keep banging on about managed isolation which is about as likely to happen here as a Dubai lockdown is where you couldn’t take your dog for a pee, why don’t you focus on achievable aims like workplace safety (which btw encompasses schools).

Because that is not a strategy to get back to normality by itself
