Deja vu from when you said we would pay for our summer holidays with a winter lockdown, making a mistake happens to everyone, repeating mistakes is unforgivable

Yesterday on my daily walk I saw a lady out with her little dog. After it finished crapping she told it "Good job" but didn't clear up its mess, leaving it for some other poor sod to do the dirty work. I immediately thought of

Did anyone advise the governments to close schools early? We have thousands, I guess hundreds of thousands, of pupils and staff who have no time to isolate potentially making bubbles with families and potentially spreading the virus. Makes no sense to me.

Or go online after 14th. Would work for me. My parents are 300 miles away. Mum just had
attack, we need to see each other. If kids in school ‘til 18th can’t do 14 day isolation & short visit within the timeframe.

Devi, I agree. As a KIWI I cannot believe the lack of firm leadership in the UK when in a national emergency hard decisions have to be made. Due to a populist rhetoric, there will be another surge in infections and deaths in January. COVID does not stop infecting for Xmas.

I’m a little shocked government is advising on 3 families rule. We are in the midst of a pandemic-we can’t always expect normality. If this was a war, I’m not sure we would be still doing this. I love Christmas, but I love my family more. We & the NHS will pay the price of this.

In S.Korea, Chuseok (Autumn festival) is equivalent to Christmas for them. Do you know what the government there said? “Stay at home and shun gatherings.” They had only 100 Covid cases a day! This is the biggest mistake the UK government has made. They have no excuses this time.pic.twitter.com/dfHMciYki7

SAGE and
@IndependentSage members need to come out and make some noise about this - we have had enough tragedy for one year. There may be safer ways families can meet up (outdoors?) and for a shorter period of time? - Show replies
