Good news today in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿: now illegal to smack or physically punish children. Now, children have the same protection from assault as adults. Hope other parts of UK will follow. #ChildrenFirsthttps://news.sky.com/story/scotland-becomes-first-part-of-uk-to-make-smacking-children-illegal-12126110 …

Can you tell us your thoughts on the Mink stuff? I saw you said we should be concerned but I'm not sure what that means really?

The reason to possibly be concerned is as follows. To have gone from humans to minks, the virus would have most likely had to mutate it’s spike protein somewhat to enter mink cells easier. Then as it has gone back into humans, those spike proteins may be different enough 1/2

70-80% of U.K. has broken the law in their parenting. Will we all be arrested? Historic offences for all of us? This is an overstep of authorities into the family life of millions of healthy and loving families.

My fear with this sort of thing is that the overstep is almost inevitably selective.

I wish this was also implemented in India too. Sorely needed.

Psychologically naive for me. Parents sometimes crack; and sometimes kids need them to.

This is exactly the problem. It's not about measured, rational punishment as is often, it's more likely to be about parents cracking. Why is that acceptable to you?
