    Eradication -> getting rid of every case of COVID on the planet. Only possible in long-term w/vaccine. Elimination -> stopping community transmission within national borders. Imported cases will occur, but if identified quickly, can mean return to largely ‘normal’ daily life.

        These terms keep being used interchangeably- but they have distinct meanings. We have eliminated malaria & measles in many countries. We have not eradicated them.

        Could you define suppression please @devisridhar ? @CMO_England talked about trying to have a very low number of cases when he was at the Lords Committee a week or so ago...my understanding is that there are degrees of suppression. Also mitigation...need clear defs @BoycottUnsafe

        Yes! For those complaining about the short notice regarding Spain, folk should focus on why decisive action was required. We want children to return to schools next month, so minimise the risk of infection. Quarantine is better than infecting family, friends and workmates.
