👇🏼 Approach in England. Astonishing to just accept “waves & waves” without trying to prevent these waves through public health approach.https://twitter.com/PippaCrerar/status/1278733052785631233 …

Dr Jenny Harries warns of "waves and waves" of coronavirus. "A 2nd wave is quite a possibility - that is not ruled out at all. A 2nd peak, as in an epidemic peak, is also not ruled out. In pandemics you can sometimes see successive ones... you can get waves and waves." Ulp.

It looks like they have just given up, in the knowledge that test and trace isn't working down there because they made a hash of implementing it: chickens coming home to roost

2 - It seems to imply that whatever the mitigations they don't expect to change the total infections. In mathematical terms, they can change the shape of the curve, but not the area under it. Almost a "no need to hurry, we can't change anything" mentality. pic.twitter.com/hOURQnngnu

I don't understand why, as in Scotland, they don't make it mandatory to wear a mask in shops. How does that impact negatively in any way. Simple way of reducing risk.
