So excess mortality is the best indicator of the impact of Covid - shows up ALL deaths including eg untreated cancers & other conditions which did not get the usual level of attention thanks to the distraction of the virus..

Exactly....The only reason the Nightingales were not needed was not because of case number but the NHS treated Covid patients to the near exclusion of all others, suspended screening Etc. This is not sustainable.

It's odd that many can't see this though. The Govt led the public to believe that it was always their plan to lockdown when they did to slow the curve and suppress pressure on NHS. Very clever spin when we know they were late locking down and by then the horse had already bolted.
