Kids are the real losers of failure to suppress COVID. Rise in cases makes it hard to get back them back to school & to address concerns of teachers & parents. No one in No.10 seems to be thinking about kids & schools- only about holidays & pubs. Schools should be #1 priority.

Because people who are drinking and holidaying will be too busy to plot a revolution.

The top priority should be to elimate the virus then everything else falls into place. Is was phoned in March in Serbia when I had been near a positive person.

The real losers are the families that have lost people, I have lost 2 people to this virus, I blame Westminster for not putting the lockdown in place quicker or getting testing sorted. Scotland will become a successful independent country and we can govern ourselves properly!

Not to mention that schools are the key to wider reopening so parents can work!

Agreed - but (and given your background you're a great person to comment) are we trying to slow down transmission in the hope of a vaccine arriving in a reasonable timescale, or have we decided we have to just let this thing out, so long as it doesn't overwhelm hospitals?

Thank you. At the moment it’s fine with limited class sizes and the possibility of proper social distancing, but I am very concerned for the next school year. I would have hoped we could have worked hard to reduce the incidence of the virus before then, but that seems unlikely.

I think they will try to ignore it and carry on regardless to save the economy.
