Lost in messaging is asymptomatic transmission (someone can feel fine & still be infectious to others) which makes #SARSCoV2 particularly hard to control. Just relying on self-isolation based on symptoms is not enough.https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMe2009758 …

It's worse than that. It is the idea that no leader is educating people on the simplicity, effectiveness and efficacy of masks. Why not? This is so infuriating. So simple. Are people that obtuse? A simple mask makes the front pages justifiable.

I thought you raised such a valid and often overlooked point on Channel 4 news re that people who are seriously ill but survive and the longer term health issues and rehabilitation they face. I think people need to understand that point too.

Can’t believe how much this has been ignored in public messaging & seemingly not factored into Gov strategy either. Remarkable given that Science paper on cases originating from undocumented infection came out mid-March & Iceland data shortly after, & mountains of evidence since.

But Ollie, it’s not “Britain’s best” science or evidence, so it surely doesn’t translate because, y’know... we’re BRITISH! 🇬🇧 BTW, have they named “Britain’s best” scientists & released their evidence yet?

It’s too hard for the spin folk and Dom Cummings to put into a soundbite so it’s better to ignore it. It also probably too hard for most of the cabinet and the PM to understand.

The best way to tackle this is with making non medical facecoverings mandatory in places of work, transport&retail. I am an essential retail worker&the amount of “close talkers” as I would politely call them is ridiculous. We need to have firm decisive action. Stop being so nice

I'll wear a mask inside for a short period. Not outside. I don't believe masks are healthy. Especially after getting dirty. Give free masks to all, change daily, that might work.

''The investigators were not able to retrospectively elucidate specific person-to-person transmission events.'' This statement clearly shows that everything else in this 'report' is guesswork, or known fact. Older people with obvious 'other' health problems are at risk.
