Releasing lockdown without public health infrastructure in place (test, trace, isolate & surveillance) makes lockdown pointless so far. Everyone agrees we need to get out of lockdown ASAP, focus needs to be on how time being used to replace lockdown with package of interventions.

Time is the currency that matters now. Clock started 31 Dec (when China notified WHO) for countries to race to prepare for virus to arrive. Clock started 23th March in UK to use precious lockdown time to race to build public health infrastructure. Urgency completely lost.

All these countries at great distance from us. Around these parts whatever measures have been taken have failed to restrict impact of the disease to less than many times the impact in former countries. Surely other factors at work some possibly related to geographic location.
