Lockdowns are not a solution, nor will virus magically disappear. They are astronomically costly way of buying time. Goal for govts is to replace it with 'package' of public health measures that all together can keep daily new cases low. 'Test, trace, isolate' key component.

Devi, I tweeted, what if we don’t find a vaccine? Any thoughts? Thanks

If a vaccine cannot be found, there is still a good chance that we will find additional methods of treatment that will reduce the intensity of the course of the virus, reducing lethality and long-term side effects such as organ damage.

Track and trace app is deeply troubling. If the warner brothers are anywhere near it then I'm not going to touch it. I can only imagine how aroused they are by this opportunity.

The whole way they’ve treated it has been as an opportunity! The app is deeply worrying & they’re trying to brand it as the NHS app in press!

Which it seems we’re only beginning to think about. What chance we’ll have a reliable network of TTI any day soon?

Agreed. And I'm amazed that even now people in government/SAGE seem to be kicking up a fuss about this, going for a "test, track, and trace" strategy instead of a "Test, trace, isolate" one. But then in this crisis, literally every corner has been cut and the result has been bad.
