Best estimates are we are 5-6% through this epidemic. Bumpy road ahead balancing health, economy and society. Need to use lockdown to get into better position & to aggressively go after virus. Longer we take to get testing & tracing going, longer we are stuck in lockdown.

So Devi why do you think testing is taking so long? It seems to be all talk and no action from both WM And Scottish Governments

Because we spent weeks and weeks debating whether testing matters, and finally when it was recognized by govt, it is hard to build capacity overnight when entire world looking for swabs, reagents and same crucial things.

I think this is based on Iceland's testing

Does the 5-6% refer to time from the date of first detection to time of flatlining? Or is it some other measure?

UK or globally? US has similar problems of testing and tracing.

Tests Tests Tests & more tests, Mr.Trump says we do not need them, It’s like saying preventative medicine doesn’t help fight diseases, “This is nuts”, The whole world knows it and is watching the man make a fool of himself

You have to ignore anything that Trump says, it is just random firing of neurons. The actual US strategy is based on testing and contact tracing, including random testing of the populationpic.twitter.com/EkTa0SBQjq
