        The average person had no way of knowing this would occur. Health science literature isn't as exciting as, say, Instagram and cat videos.

        Idk. The average person (deniers excluded) seems to understand the risk of climate change pretty well. And if you think about it climate risk is actually more obscure and diffuse than pandemic risk. So what gives?
