The message the govt needs to hear most of all! We need to parallel track wartime footing for this effort, while staging for the NHS crisis in the coming weeks. This is a huge endeavor to build an Asian style tech-enabled test/trace/isolate model in a few months. Start now!

In 1914 many thought the war would be done by Christmas. Epic fail. HMG seems to think that COVID19 "war" will be done in short order. Another epic fail looming. Instead larger numbers will be done in, with no end in sight. Mass test/trace is the only way -

@devisridhar Layman's question.. Why is UK govt prioritising testing for antibodies? Why the push to mass test for who has HAD#COVID19 yet barely test anyone for who HAS the virus NOW. Are they still pursuing a herd immunity strategy on the quiet? -
If the Oxford paper is correct then loads of asymptomatic spread. Hence serological test useful.

US has ramped up massively while UK has been twiddlig thumbs , so some global shortage seems spurious at best

And if immunity only lasts 6-12 months as other coronavirus's (so I understand) - what is the point of that? Something like this that is so monumental should absolutely not be in the hands of just a few of people.

We will probably be better equipped for testing, protection and research as time passes. For now, we are stuck without sufficient resources and must therefore respond with stay home alone. It may be necessary to repeat if we get sloppy or release too early.
