    President Trump’s commutation of his friend Roger Stone is about what I have come to expect. Trump is perhaps the most lawless president in American history. For anyone still in doubt, in Trump world it pays to have friends in high places. America has to do better than that.

    Indigenous people have not always been able to depend on commitments made by US governments. ruled today that America’s word must count for something. Once the Trump administration is replaced this fall, I hope we can depend on that consistently.

    Re-imaging policing starts with investing in communities. By allocating more funding to education, mental health services, child care & other basic resources, we can support families, and end the cycle of turning to police when these systems fail.
