What the EU lobby still fails to grasp is that the British people voted in huge numbers to leave the EU not because of economics, but because their gut told them it’s a mistake for their country to be subsumed into an undemocratic, unaccountable United States of Europe.https://twitter.com/carlbildt/status/958232398990401537 …
My problem is that I can't elect the commissioners who initiate the laws , it may not be important to you but it is to me and would appear to have also mattered to over 17 million others too.

Fair enough, although I disagree, yes. Which laws do you take issue with? (Please don’t say bendy bananas.)

Thus far none , but having been offered a referendum , having researched and finding FO 30 /1048 and Jean Monnet I have an unease about further inegration. Plus profligacy - the monthly trek to Strasbourg etc

You don't elect the UK civil service, who initiate laws even if an MP then attaches their name to it.
-
The civil service 'drafts' the laws as instructed by the Government

Proposals are not designed in a vacuum: Govts, citizens, affected parties are all consulted. The evidence base developed has to go through rigorous testing, and it’s published. Logically, Commissioner’s would not propose something unacceptable to council & parliament.
-
Logically you would not move the parliament from Brussels's to Strasbourg once a month
