I was trying to separate my account from my parents and pay MORE for my own line and got denied unless I provided my SS card

It's unfortunately trivial to get this kind of information, which is why companies like
@Verizon need to stop relying on it -
it is very hard to securely authenticate the general public.

@deray@CHASE_LUCHIANO sadly that method of gaining access is pretty damn common. That's why banks have started doing auth via dial code -

@deray@CHASE_LUCHIANO for instance, the Barclays banking app in the UK has a button to press that calls support and authorizes too.
