I was hacked today: my Twitter account, two email addresses, & my phone. It was not due to passwords, they hacked my phone account itself.

Today I learned that it is rather easy for someone to call the provider & change your SIM. The hacker got the account verification texts.
I'd realized that my phone had been hacked & separated from the actual phone number when the web only routed here:pic.twitter.com/zwYygVfbYy

The staff from
@twitter were incredibly helpful once alerted and helped to both delete some of the hacked tweets and give me back access. -
Verizon recorded the call made this morning by the imposter and we are working with lawyers to get the recording. It's been a long day.

The hacker got access by changing my SIM which redirected texts, then resetting my passwords to trigger two-factor authentication. Intense.

About 10 years ago someone contacted Verizon, claimed my husband was out of town & successfully changed my voicemail password, to cover up

ACCOUNT password! I now use an answering machine without incident.It’s too easy to order Verizon account changes W/O ACCOUNT password !

My phone company has a "password phrase" that only I know that has to be given before any changes to my account are made

Never remember my pswrd phrases when I call companies. I’m *always* able to provide something else to get around it

I forgot it once they wouldn't talk to me, told me to go into a store, I eventually remembered though

did Verizon not confirm your social? If so how does anyone know that info & if not they should be asking for that for verification
