sort of like saying don't use the word nazi because they invented it and also they're not socialist. i mean fine, but it helps to be specific about these things.

I’m just utterly confused by the entire thing, having only heard the word ‘incel’ yesterday. Surely by grouping themselves in this way, and behaving in this way, they have forfeited the ‘in’ bit, and become entirely ‘volcel’?
-
you are honestly blessed that you only heard of this yesterday. there is already a volcel community but you're right that incels become trapped in this thinking that borders on voluntary celibacy
-
when r/incel was up they used to turn on people who ended up getting girlfriends calling them sell-outs and saying that they must be secret chads etc etc
-
Ugh
I suppose I was aware of this type of person before but not that they were (semi?)organised...

It's not exactly a self-aggrandising label either

I have the same thing about Cult of Kek and their insidious offspring. I like them to know that I know who they are, what they say, what they believe in

for a while now i've noticed this alienation from women often overlaps with support for other conservative principles like social darwinism so when i heard the term "involuntary celibacy" this week i thought it couldn't be more apt.
-
not that i don't sympathise with people suffering from social isolation. i suffer from that myself, but this incel stuff validates the sense of inadequacy that i've managed to avoid (and would happily explain to anybody given the chance)
-
albeit less about women, but the same applies even if you're attracted to men (soz for tripple post)
