@TwitchSupport is there a plan to allow following/subscribing to a channel anonymously? I don't want my name broadcasted in chat or on stream / saved in VoDs, and frankly this is turning me off subscribing to some channels I like.

Not sure why such a feature would be good, if you're not comfortable with the broadcaster or people knowing that you're a sub then why sub in the first place. Although, you could subscribe when the channel is offline and the chance of them noticing it def lower

Uhhhh you understand there is a difference in wanting to support a streamer and putting my name publicly in front of 100-10K people, recorded forever, as supporting that streamer? Maybe some people just want privacy? Or think that sub notifs are annoying anyway?

That's why I chose a username on Twitch that can't be connected to who I am IRL. I get your point, I just disagree and I think at least most of the broadcasters wanna thank the person/user that paid them the money

If this was a supported option, do you think broadcasters would decide not to respect the wish of a person subbing not wanting their name exposed? I mean, if that was the case I wouldn't sub to them, ofc. But right now I can't even message that intent.

It'd probably be a lot of work having to toggle your alerts (or the setting if implemented) on/off for every person that does not want their Twitch username shown in chat or on their stream overlay.

If Twitch properly implemented that, the sub just wouldn't get into notification streams that are watched by chat/overlay (but still visible in e.g. dashboards and stuff), or maybe just as "Anonymous" instead. And then no tools need any changes at all.

Yeah that could definitely work, I know some donation programs have the ability that you can check to be anonymous, might be good if the setting handles itself & the broadcaster doesn't have to spend too much time on it

Right, and I've used that extensively in the past! If you have a channel to send these kind of feature requests to Twitch, please let them know there is at least one rando guy interested. :-)
