Apologize if you took it the wrong way. I love Brockton and no disrespect intended. Amazing the number of great athletes from there. I just put all athletes in the Boston category....Brady, Ortiz, Pedro, Orr, Russell, Agannis, Bird, Williams, etc.
I hear you; it's just that very few of the greats come from "here." Smerlas from Waltham; Fidrych from Southboro; Kerrigan from Stoneham. One of my earliest memories was my dad telling me he was seeing a guy named Marvelous fight at Brockton High; few yrs later World Champion.
