Earlier this year, @harvardiop students and I traveled to South Carolina to host a town meeting w/ young voters. Our student moderator asked: What do you guys look for in a candidate?
Consistency.
Knowledge on the issues that they're speaking about.
Intersectionality.
Balls.
I questioned it, here's what followed. "Oh no, no, no, no, no. Just figuratively, I guess. Just the ability to make the gutty decisions. I don't care if it's a woman or a male, it doesn't matter. Just the person who's willing to make the really hard choice and can make it well."

Interesting - thanks for the insight. I guess it means we need to keep working on fixing the misogynistic vocabulary that is everywhere.
