I know quite a few *Boomers* who served *BECAUSE* their parents made them. Why? Because they were either In Trouble or Headed for Trouble. And Others I know, Family members incl, entered for Employment or to earn money for School. Whhy are we making military service an idol?
Overhead from Boomer lamenting today's youth: My idea of patriotism was going into military. Her way of giving back is teaching in inner-city. She's fairly liberal. She drives around in a car that I paid for w/ a Sanders bumper sticker on it. Generation gap in full display.

1) Both military service & teaching in an inner city can be patriotic, so seems like a false choice from the Boomer. 2) If the Boomer paid for the car, it seems like the Boomer chose to "give a fish" rather than "teach to fish." Signed, A Youth
