Not everything has to be an omnibus statement of platform. And if they did lump gun control in with it, it would give opponents more leverage to weaken the effort and the language, and spur the NRA into swerving out of their lane on an issue they would otherwise let slide.

Sorry, I'm not good at posts that start serious, stay serious, then veer sarcastic at the end. I usually miss the sarcasm and read it as genuine frustration or disgust. I drop off my kid at school everyday. She's only in first grade, but her wing is closest to the parking lot.

There's Trump bumper stickers still clinging to some parent's vehicles. The crossing guard a block away wears his MAGA hat proudly. I got jeered by parents when I "protested" against arming teachers. It's my #2 issue. Climate decay is a bigger threat to my daughter's long life.
