    Twitter hivemind, I want to display a per-page hit counter in my web app, pulling data from the Google Analytics API. It seems like it would be a common use-case, but I can't find instances of anyone else doing this. Are there drawbacks I'm not seeing?

    This was an interesting write-up about how difficult it is for Chrome extension developers to manage permissions. The responsible choice is to request the fewest permissions possible, but you'll scare and confuse users with frequent requests for fine-grained permissions.
