Del, your email states that Alex Jones never posted material on Twitter that violated Twitter's content policy. But CNN reporter Oliver Darcy published a rather lengthy list of vile, reprehensible tweets by Jones to the contrary.https://money.cnn.com/2018/08/09/media/twitter-infowars-alex-jones/index.html …

Del, you're the trust officer for Twitter. But you lied to us. You lied to your shareholders, board of directors, users, and customers. Is that not a fireable offense? How can we possibly trust your word now?

Nothing adds clarity like: unreadably long line lengths, in a low resolution image, that doesn't use one's own (excellent) image description tools… when it could have been responsive, accessible text content in a blog post.
-
…or, maybe, a series of threaded tweets that take advantage of 280 characters per tweet.

It’s almost like the ppl who run twitter don’t know how to use it bc they .... don’t use it?

Interesting and lengthy way to say that shareholder value is more important than anything else.
-
Shareholder value is more important that anything else. The only thing that will work is if we leave the platform. Advertisers lose half of their clicks, shareholders panic, stock value plummets. Capitalism for the win.

The Twitter rules allow you to remove this person for behavior OFF the platform.pic.twitter.com/ETipEyfVeR

So, pushing a conspiracy theory that leads to off-platform harassment that has shown to rapid escalate doesn't fit in here?

You should ban Jones and his brand, provisionally, until you get your new policies hashed out. Then if their content isn’t still unacceptable for your platform, take a harder look at your policies.
-
Well no, they couldn't ban just him until they figure out policy. They can't ban someone for something they've done against a policy that does not exist yet.
-
That's so disingenuous - millions have people have been suspended or banned for doing far less than Jones does on a daily basis.
-
"millions" I'd like to see a source please. Also, it isn't your call to make. If those other people have violated Twitter's terms they'd be suspended in accordance with them.
-
Lol, I was banned for asking Ted Cruz to prove he wasn't an alien.
