A group of dancers from started us off on a wonderful celebratory performance. Many of them have already received a cookstove. Hundreds of people are gathered here en masse to receive their stoves! It’s the world’s biggest cookstove programme.

Governor , Emmanuel Gasana, also commends the life-changing impact of the cookstove. He says this stove was particularly important for families in Ngoma, Rwamagana and Bugesera districts, who used to rely on dried grass for cooking fuel!

The recipients of these stoves receive training on how to use them, and this is arguably the most important factor of this programme. 5000 Community Health Workers help in this regard, and aims to at least double that number next year!
