Great to hear from President tonight at the DNC to discuss all the great progress we’ve made, especially investing in workers and bringing back American jobs.

President Biden knows that any road to the White House goes through the heartland. 30 years ago, Sen. Carl Levin & I jump started the effort to make the early primary states look like the nation by moving up MI’s primary. Now, let’s get it done!

And to all those watching races across the country like I am: it may take time before we know final results. We must ensure every single vote is counted. And no matter the outcomes, we must treat each other with kindness and dignity, and work together to find common ground.

To everyone who exercised their right to vote and made their voice heard in this election: thank you. Our Democracy is stronger when everyone participates. It is an honor to represent you, and I look forward to working for the people of Southeast Michigan for another two years.

University of Michigan, stand up and make your voice heard by 11/8! If participating in our democracy isn't enough of a reason to vote, beating MSU should be. Learn more at: govote.umich.edu/ann-arbor

We may root for different teams, but we both agree there’s an important election this November. @DebDingell & I want to see which school – U of M or MSU — can cast more votes on campus before the big game on October 29th. It takes 15 minutes to register & vote, all in one go.

Today, we remember the lives lost, we appreciate the heroic first responders who answered the call during one of our darkest hours, and we thank the brave servicemembers who have dedicated their lives to defending our nation.   Never forget #September11

I stand with SKLD nursing home workers in Bloomfield Hills in their fight for a union. I had the honor to meet Kasandra Kemp, a CNA, when she testified about how a union would help workers hold employers accountable. I’m proud to support workers fighting for unions. #UnionsForAll

I’m headed to the Hill today to vote on the Inflation Reduction Act. This bill is going to lower prescription drug and healthcare costs, lower energy costs and combat the Climate Crisis, and strengthen the enforcement of tax laws. We have gotten a lot of much needed work done.

Yesterday was an emotional day that will stay with me for a long time. The PACT Bill was about delivering on promises make to our veterans too long ago. It is a true reminder of why we do what we do, and it was a bipartisan effort that people deserved.

I am calling on the EPA to get more directly involved in the emergency response to the Huron River spill and to ensure all responsible parties are held accountable.

I am most honored to have received both one of the Michigan Veterans’ highest awards and the Key to the City of Wyandotte. Both make me emotional and humbled. Thank you.

Congrats to both the primary winners and to those who ran strong campaigns and cared enough to participate in our democracy but didn’t make it. Now we must all stay involved and work to elect #StrongDems up and down the ballot in November!

I am grateful for the continued support and endorsement from the MI Nurses Association. Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system and I will continue to be an outspoken advocate for them.

It’s been a busy month! We have been all over the district. From an MNA informational picket, to the Novi Chariot Festival, to the Washtenaw Vet Fest, to West Willow Stop The Violence, and the Rosie the Riveter Crafts Show. It’s always great to see old friends and meet new ones.
