I would love to not vent about this stuff on Twitter but after going through @YouTube's official channels I've found nothing but roadblocks and unhelpfulness. Right now I feel like @TeamYouTube is stealing from me and I'll explain how in this thread.

Up until last week I had a system that worked with YouTube: I would upload a video days before its release, and as soon as it was uploaded it would change to "yellow" which would allow me to request a manual review. Sometimes the videos would pass, and

sometimes they would fail, but when they failed I had enough time to make changes, re-upload, and get them approved before publishing them (releasing them) on my channel. Last week, something on

it wouldn't change to yellow. It would stay "green", which you might think was a good thing - but if the video doesn't turn yellow at all, I can't request a manual review of it. This would be fine if the video never went yellow at all and just stayed green. But, of course,

that's not what happened. Instead, the video turned yellow AS SOON as I published it. By turning yellow, YouTube's algorithm recommended it to less people, and I also made barely any revenue on it. In fact I just got numbers for yesterday, and while yesterday's video had good

views, I got literally 10% of the usual revenue I get on a video. Imagine having 90% of your paycheck withheld after you've done all the work and did everything you could to comply with the rules.
@TeamYouTube has changed its rules on creators yet again. When they introduced the1 reply 8 retweets 213 likesShow this thread -
manual review process they suggested uploading early as unlisted and getting it reviewed before publishing. That made things harder on me because I had to finish videos faster, but I understood and complied. I did what they wanted and for a while it was fine. But now their own

suggested practice is broken and, again, it really feels like I'm having the payment for all my work stolen from me. And the worst part is there doesn't seem to be any way to trigger that yellow sign so I can request a manual review. I even tried adding stuff like "Nazi" to the

tags of the video to get a yellow dollar sign so I could request a review. Nothing. It stayed green until the moment I published it, at which point the football was pulled away from me. I've talked to

that they can only manually review videos that are yellow. When I tell them not even "Nazi" in the tags will turn a video yellow now, I get a shrug in response. Obviously I love making these videos but right now they're also my primary source of income. If

to cheat me out of revenue by making their rules arbitrary and impossible to follow, I really don't know what to do. I just really don't know. I hope this insanely long thread made sense and please, PLEASE don't tweet rude things at @TeamYouTube. I'm very upset but there's no

reason for anyone to be uncivil about this. I'm just hoping that this might catch a human being at
@YouTube's attention and that they can manually review my uploads once more. That's all I want: a chance to play by some fair rules again.7 replies 8 retweets 288 likesShow this thread -
Update: I FINALLY GOT AN UPLOAD TO TURN YELLOW. All it took was naming it and tagging it as such (and it still took an hour to turn yellow):pic.twitter.com/RgFzYc1k2g
