    in 1926 the first of three DH.65 Hound's first flew at Stag Lane piloted by Hubert S Broad. Powered by a Napier Lion engine, at the time, it was the fastest two seat aeroplane in the world.

    in 1950, The prototype Vampire trainer, G-5-7, developed as a private venture from the twin seat Vampire night fighter flies. At the conclusion of company trials it was handed over to the RAF as WW456 for Service evaluation.

    Rememberance Sunday 14th November 21 we will be laying wreaths at the De Havilland Aircraft Museum at 11am. We do hope that you can join us. This Sunday all Serving and Ex- Military will gain free entry to the Museum when accompanied by their family.

    in 1934 DH.88 Comet sets new out-and-back England to Australia record. After arriving fourth in the MacRobertson England to Australia air race. They immediately return and arrive at Lympne on 2/11/1934, 13 days 6 hours 43 mins after leaving RAF Mildenhall.

    in 1976 Sea Vixen FAW.2, XJ565, is transported by road to the museum from RAE Bedford. She is currently being restored by our volunteers so please come and see progress.

    in 1997 the UK MoD's Comet 4C, XS235 named 'Canopus', makes the final flight of a Comet when it flies into Bruntingthorpe for preservation as a taxying exhibit.

    My boys had a great time today visiting. It was made even better by the fantastic staff who guided us around, talked about the planes. My eldest son came home and made a model plane too! Thank you for a great afternoon!
