Talked to folks like Jacob Dunlap, wearing a mask emblazoned VOTE, who’s tried to plan for a safe family Xmas gathering - but frustrated by lack of tests. “It should be as easy as checking out a library book,” said Dunlap, rather than “lining up outside” for 90 mins in the cold.

A public school teacher, who’s tried to find a test for two days, left after 75 min in line - before rapid tests were handed out - because he had to get back to class. Common refrain was frustration with gov’t delay. Several folks cited Psaki Q&A on rapid tests from 2 weeks ago.pic.twitter.com/dzgjM57q9Q

Did you ask them why they need the test and why they are compelled to wait?

Omicron breakthroughs happen at a disturbingly high rate. Vax still keeps ppl mostly from being hospitalized, but you can still get it, and worse, spread it to others. Testing is the really safe play for travel, grouping, and if you have symptoms.

These people have mental problems, but it’s mostly not their fault, a lot of the blame for this absurdity goes toward the media and public health officials.
