Often several times a day I see people on Twitter struggling due to their own or a loved one's battle with cancer. My mom battled for over 5 years; we lost her nearly 11 years ago. It's heartbreaking. Even if you don't know me, DM if you need someone to listen. I'll do my best.

Along with its unflinching depiction of gun violence, the other primary message in this first episode about police violence is at least equally powerful. By showing the effects of violence, the show makes a strong case for changing how we handle police violence and gun control.

Someone with the last name Butterworth recently followed me. That's my last name, too. I know it's a fairly common name, yet I'm always happy to make the acquaintance of another Butterworth. So, thank you for following.

I just watched the first episode. I'm okay. Those tears needed to fall. To André Holland, Colin Kaepernick, and everyone else involved, thank you for accurately depicting the reality of gun violence in a meaningful, impactful way.

They were looking at the camera for about one second, and I happened to hit the shutter button right then. I love this picture, even if it is a bit blurry. I think that adds a sense of action, and one can still see the joyful suspense in their eyes. An exciting moment for them.

The fire in AOC's voice is necessary, and I am thankful to hear her speaking about the racist Republican party in this manner. I thank Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for effectively using her voice to say what so many of us are thinking.

"I had a member of the Republican caucus threaten my life and the Republican caucus rewarded him with one of the most prestigious committee assignments in this Congress." Watch Rep. AOC respond to Republicans' removal of Rep. @Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee ⬇️

Can we all please stop sharing the bullshit story about Jaime Raskin and his cap now? It's a bogus story that was started by one twitter user with no credible corroboration. There is enough to be irate about. We don't need to make shit up.

BREAKING: House Republicans, today, will vote to condemn socialism. That means they are voting to condemn the US military, social security, Medicare, our roads and highways, our schools, our police and firefighters, and the PPP loans that they all took and never paid back.

On behalf of those in America who are still sane, I would like to politely encourage all Florida Republican politicians to go f*ck themselves.

Republican politicians are now openly calling for the termination of every public university president in Florida without cause and against the will of the students and faculty. What happened at @NewCollegeofFL yesterday should shock every Floridian. #yourcampusisnext

2/2 The only news stories about this incident use Twitter as a source, and specifically the tweets by you, Brooklyn Dad Defiant. What credible source corroborates this story? Please clear this up. I'd like to trust, but outrageous claims require evidence.

1/2 Brooklyn Dad Defiant ()--I have questions about this story. This story contradicts news stories about the warm reception Sen. Raskin received from members of both parties. I can't find a tweet about it earlier than yours. It appears to have begun with you.

If there was ever any doubt about how scummy House Republicans are, they want Rep. Jamie Raskin to remove the cap he's been wearing while he undergoes chemo treatment for CANCER. Fucking assholes.🤬

While you were robbed blind at the pump this year (and GOP blamed Biden), Exxon made $55,700,000,000 in profits. Over $1 billion per week. $152,600,000 per day. $1,766.24 per *second.* Congress should heed POTUS’s call and pass my bill to claw back Big Oil’s excess profits.

You have to love Rep. Jamie Raskin.

Rep. Jamie Raskin gets a standing ovation in Dem Caucus after saying he will push back on Republican efforts to make him take off the cap he's been wearing as he undergoes chemotherapy. "And I will make them take off their toupees," Raskin said to Dem cheers

Thanks to all who've responded. Your support has been overwhelming. I'm going to need some time to follow some of you back, but I like to follow people back when they follow me, so it will be done. You renewed my faith in the Twitter community, and these days that's encouraging.

Thank you to all who commented. Forgiveness is necessary for survival. The alternative is holding onto resentment and bitterness. That's not what my friend would want for me. It's not what I want for myself, nor for anyone else. If I wish it didn't happen, it still happened.
