Black unemployment, Trump's favourite of these numbers, is down to 5.9%, a big drop from 6.6% in April (this data can be noisy). The white rate is 3.5%. That's the smallest gap ever recorded between the two since the government started releasing the racial data in the '70s.

One more important thing about Black unemployment, since Trump likes to take sole credit for the new record low: it fell from 12.7% to 7.8% under Obama, then 7.8% to 5.9% under Trump. First of all, what ever happened to the "real" unemployment rate of 40%+ that trump talked about on the campaign trail? Second of all, where I am we are desperate for workers. Can we please create an immigration policy that lets employers fill open jobs?
