Yup. I tried to get a warranty claim and they pretend like they have no idea why I’d think it was covered.
Apple is very heavily marketing the iPhone 11 Pro as water resistant, but the fine print says, "Liquid damage not covered under warranty." Seems more than a bit dishonest to advertise a feature and then disclaim responsibility for it actually working properly.

If it actually gets damaged by water, that should mean it was taken past its water resistance capacity, right?
The PROBLEM is when your iPhone breaks from a coffee spill and you have to prove you didn’t go deep sea diving.... then what?

That’s the whole point though. They don’t want to be responsibility for “misuse”. If you misused the phone, which causes a crack that breaks the waterseal, then they aren’t responsible.

They’ve been doing this since the 10 and I’ve personally seen two friends lose those phones to brief dips into pools and lakes. Apple told them both to get lost.

If I remember the Sony Xperia Z-series was also said to be waterproof first and I remember some girls using that phone in a pool (without any additional protection) so it might work (at least for a new phone where the sealing material is not yet degraded in any way).
