The sun is out in , but some roads are still a bit tricky. Our deputies are still responding to a lot of crashes, many due to speed and the slushiness of the roads. Slush on roads can be just as nasty as plain old water; it causes hydroplaning. #slowwaydown

It's with great sadness we announce the passing of Deputy Kraig Conger. Conger suffered a major heart attack while on duty. He passed away Dec 28. He was 51. He worked for us for 22 yrs. Kraig, you will be missed but never forgotten. Rest easy friend, we have the watch from here.

It's about to get REALLY COLD outside. Due to the extreme temperatures in the morning, Douglas County Offices will be on a 2 hour delay opening at 10:00am on 12/22/2022. Douglas County Courts have made the decision to remain closed. Stay warm out there, stay home if you can!

I-25 from County Line Rd to Dry Creek is currently closed for an active situation on I-25. The incident is contained, but is still ongoing at this time. This is a multi-jurisdictional investigation. More will follow.

#DCSO #BestCrimeFighters Last Thursday, graves team deputies arrested car thief who made the mistake of coming into Douglas County thinking he could commit crimes and get away with it. He went to jail, and the community is kept safe. Win-Win.
