    Bernie Sanders won with whites and with Latinos. With voters with a college degree and without. He won voters ages 17-29, 30-44, and 45 to 65. He won with men and with women. And he won at all the Culinary Union caucuses. It's called a winning coalition.

    one thing about bernie that i don’t see talked about a bunch and is really, really important to me is his policy regarding banking at every post office. it’s one of his policies that’s the least sexy but most impactful

    sama with the low key hat tip to the Bernie movement he also said a while ago: we don't need the long term cap gains tax break. (LTCG is the main reason mill- & billionaires often pay lower tax rates than the middle class.) i think he gets it.

    Young people willing to push super hard to make something happen are among the most powerful forces in the world.

    Nothing remotely like what Mike Bloomberg is doing has ever been seen in US politics - nothing in the same universe. And the threat and danger it (and he) poses to US democracy is equally without comparison. It’s a menace beyond what words can describe:

    Bloomberg campaign has now disclosed $400 million in broadcast, radio & cable ads, $42 million on Facebook ads, $36 million on Google ads, god knows how much on staff, research, & polling. Absolutely on its way to being a many-multi billion dollar effort at this pace.

    Bernie is actually a standard social democrat. For all of his talk of revolution he's actually a reformer. He's the continuation of FDR's new deal legacy. In the rest of the developed world his politics are very moderate & in the US he's right in the middle of mainstream opinion.

    There is deep denial in elite Dem circles that they lost to a populist and that a lot of the country wants a populist. Rather than recognizing that and channeling it in a traditionally left direction they stomp their feet and demand more bleh corporate centrist
