    A sign of just how absurd the Trump Presidency is. Having on Fed appointee rejected would have been very big news. TWO rejected in short order would have serious ramifications. And yet I doubt it will matter at all politically.

    This should be widely distributed but will not. HIgh wages for low income workers results in dramatically lower suicides.

    Key finding: higher minimum wages, EITCs significantly reduce non-drug suicides among people with HS or less education. 10% higher minimum wages -> 3.6% fewer suicides 10% higher EITCs -> 5.5% fewer suicides

    I was at a meeting in NH over the weekend, and there was a good deal of talk about affordable housing. Astonishing to see that issue pop up in Iowa as well. In CA it is by FAR the largest issue.

    Iowa State Senators , , and Kevin Kinney have raised flags over the last few weeks about the state's affordable housing crisis. wants to be a partner in that fight.

    In the past I have run regressions against presidential approval and consumer sentiment and found it is a better predictor than any other economic measure. The reason Trump's approval doesn't benefit from the economy is the general perception hasn't changed since Obama.

    I know very few Sanders '16 people who think he would not have won. I don't think that is knowable: but electability is not really a problem for Sanders in holding on to his 2016 vote.

    Bernie currently leads Trump by 3-4 points in the poll average. That's not bad; better than any Dem other than Biden, who leads by ~7. But it's not much of a lead (same as Hillary in 16!) & easy to see it declining as he gets more scrutiny, both from other Dems and from Fox News.
