What prevents governments from using them as barriers to enter the market or mechanisms which give preference to their friends who lobby? They should all be held to strict scrutiny.

So you are okay stopping by a random beauty salon to have your hair worked on by someone without a cosmetology license? Do you mean to say a person does not need to be educated or tested to learn how to put chemicals on a scalp?

This is how I feel too. But, if I’m honest, I have never once verified the validity of a license in a beauty salon.
