I’m disputing the point people are making - mentioned in the article - that this text was about prep for Obama’s meeting with Putin. The date of the “2nd” is irrelevant because these texts on that day were discussing a meeting to take place on the 7th (after Obama/Putin meeting).
“The associates” have been telling people this text was simply about prepping Obama for the summit taking place a few days later. When in reality, the texts are about a FBI meeting (to provide info to Obama) taking place AFTER the summit. Which means it’s still ambiguous.pic.twitter.com/kDZNPLqWBp
I think they were trying to get people thinking that it was prep for the meeting - have seen people using that talking point. I’m not saying I know what the text was (can the meeting prep docs be FOIAed?), but worth noting what was in the news sept 2nd 2016.pic.twitter.com/PugJT2KKSL
