Because 1/5 make 100k or more, 100k is "minimum wage?" So, if we were doing the same for all employment sectors, in the US, 1/5 people make more than 120,000. So the gov. pays 20k less on avg. to the top 20th percentile. Also, 120k would be one hell of a "min wage" for everyone.

Sorry, I do care about accuracy, and I used household data. Individually, 100k is the 88th percentile. So while not paying less, the gov. pays 8% more of it's workers 100k than the national average of every Tom, Dick, and Harry. That still isn't what's represented in the article.
