A Republican is a Republican. I’d like to think our party is above identity politics.

It is a disgrace. GOP is a political identity. The only thing that matters is "conservative," and the Log Cabin GOP is exactly that. If I form "GOP Atheists", will affiliation be considered "endorsing atheism" or, as it should be, simply recognizing shared political interests?

I still think that the government has NO place within my bedroom- I vote for you because you are going to make sure we have ALL our rights not because your LGBTQ+. It’s 2020 let’s move past those labels & focus on actually making lives better for yo ur voters & NOT your pockets!pic.twitter.com/fPeRGJ1XkA

And to be consistent, I’ll say the SAME for religous groups, pharma and big tech companies, and anyone who has dual-citizenships. You’re not “this group or that” you’re representing the “State” that voted you in. Nothing else, nothing more.

You can complain about this if you want (and I agree that this is stupid), but to say gay people are barred from the party is a lie at best. They aren't barred from the party, but the Texas GOP doesnt want to be seen as endorsing homosexuality either.

I think it would have been better for them to approve it, and explain to any Republicans against it that it's not an endorsement of homosexuality, but an acceptance of them as people who love America, and who support conservative policies.
