"I've saved all my money. [My daughter] doesn't have any student loans. Am I going to get my money back?" @eWarren: "Of course not." "So you're going to pay for people who didn't save any money and those of us who did the right thing get screwed."pic.twitter.com/eqK7o4Cl9Q

.@EWarren has a plan for eliminating student loan debt would wipe out student loan debt entirely for 75% of borrowers. Last week, she promised to implement her plan by executive order.https://washex.am/30MWgHb

Warren’s plan is a slap in the face to hard-working, responsible adults such as this man. @KayleeDMcGhee says student loan debt forgiveness is nothing more than a Band-Aid.https://washex.am/36mlJrW

Student loans are a symptom of the problem. The rising cost of tuition outpacing inflation and wages is the problem. Forgiving student loans is a short term remedy. We’ll just have to do it again in 20yrs. Penalize the institutions who took advantage of the system.

The system exists because of federal subsidies of the college loan market and the virtual takeover by the government circa 2007. Everything the government tries to make cheaper by subsidizing it becomes more costly. Iron law of the universe it seems.

My parents sacrificed and I took out loans for graduate school. I paid back every dime.

This is exactly what I asked! Our kids don’t have student loans because we sacrificed!

I put one kid through school and the 2nd is almost done with little or no debt. But I worked every extra hour, day, and holiday for years to do it. Sick and tired of sacrificing so other people can get handouts

Her arrogance is mind boggling! I paid off my student loan. Others should "have a plan" for paying their debt, and it shouldn't be out of my pocket!

That’s my point. They raised tuition at an incredible pace because they knew the government would pay its part of the deal, and the students would be the ones strapped with the debt. That’s why I said make the institutions who took advantage of the system be penalized.
