As a teacher who worked 38 years, I can attest that oodles of food was thrown away just because of those crazy rules. EVERY student in my school was entitled to a free breakfast despite middle class kids. Plus, there were trucks that went out IN THE SUMMERS w meals!

The objective of standards is to promote healthy eating. Allowing pizzas and fries impedes it. Modify some rules but ensure the overall objective is not hurt.

Parents used too run to the school with Lunches for their kids everyday! Especially high school students they would text their parents after they would find out what was for Lunch and they would ask their parents to, bring lunch over! Especially if they were involved with sports!
