As we found out, EVERY building is a 'mosque', & as far as cultural sites, wasn't it an Islamic regime(s) that totally destroyed or 'repurposed' cultural/historic sites for the last decade(s)? Islamists have taken human shields and hiding in 'protected' areas to whole new levels.

It is preferable to leave cultural sites to the people. Terrorist minds get a perverse glee from hiding in these sites. This is why the Geneva Conventions state that Cultural Sites lose their protections when used for military purposes. tt:
