Clint Lorance feels no malice toward fellow soldiers who helped put him in prison for murder for six years before he was pardoned by @realDonaldTrump a week ago.https://washex.am/2QEGDP7

Clint, as a retired Senior NCO with 26 years in the Infantry, numerous tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, 66 months spent in combat, Im asking you to refrain from questioning your enlisted Soldiers’ character in articles such as these ☝🏼. COIN is a MF. ROEs are in place for a reason.

The longer you let these guys try to paint you as a war hero, the longer you try to rationalize that what you did was right, it is gonna eat at your inner core and soul. And it’s gonna continue to hurt, harm, and haunt your enlisted Soldiers that testified against you.

You were sent from the BN TOC to the frontlines and thrust into an operational environment you weren’t ready + prepared for. The platoon recognized this. Infantry platoons spend many months conducting pre-deployment training in an effort to build cohesiveness. A bond is formed.

You don’t order your men to shoot into a village. You don’t threaten locals with physical harm and then tell them they can discuss any grievances at the next Shura. You don’t order your men to engage the local populace with direct fire unless they pose an imminent threat. RAMP.

Get that piece of land next to the body of water you were talking about. Don’t get caught up in politics. Political pundits with ulterior objectives will use you til there is nothing left. I get you feel an obligation of loyalty to those who fought so hard to get you out. But...

I wish you the best. I wish your former Soldiers the best. I hope you can all recover, even if just a little bit, from this tragedy. It Goes On.

The majority of us who testified did not have immunity of any sort and I told this to the Army Times several years ago as well as to a couple other outlets that have contacted me since. Just because you haven't heard it doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

The source for that article is John Ramsey from the Fayetteville Observer actually, a local reporter who sat in on the court martial. Also it has everything to do with the case as it details the events that resulted in the multiple charges and convictions in those three days.
