Have worked for a tech company before? Most people are fairly busy at the workplace to care much about politics. Sure most tech workers dislike Trump but I’m doubtful that it carried against any person at a tech firm.

Why is Senator Cruz asking who American citizens voted for? Why would he ask someone how her coworkers voted? We have a secret ballot in the USA. It's none of his business. It's none of her business. (She seems to know this. He does not.)

If Google did question their employees about their political affiliations and keep records on that, they’d be in violation of federal law. Cruz went to Harvard Law, he knows that if she answers yes, she’s revealing a crime, if she answers no, he can publicly vilify her.
